Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 9 amβ6 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Rex Bakery is one of my favorite spots in Sawtelle when Iβm craving pastries and Middle Eastern sweets. Their pastries are consistently delicious, especially the cream puffs and rollade. The baklava is rich, flaky, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming, and the chickpea cookies are wonderfully buttery with a delicate texture that keeps me coming back for more. The service is always friendly and welcoming, Another big plus is that parking is usually easy to find (street parking), something thatβs not always easy in this area. The main drawback is that itβs a cash only business, which can be inconvenient if youβre not prepared. The bakery is also fairly small, so seating and space can be limited during busy times. Overall, the amazing selection of pastries and sweets, combined with friendly service, makes Rex Bakery well worth visiting. I just wish they accepted credit cards.

Pastries taste good overall, cream puffs had extra rose water flavors that made it taste wired a little bit but was fresh and tasty! They don't accept Debit and credit cards!! Only cash! It's not acceptable in the middle of the Los Angeles at 2026!

1: Extremely expensive. 2: Extremely expensive 3: Selling old and very stale merchandise where they should throw it away 3: Very very unfriendly salesperson 5: They only get cash or check to avoid paying taxes 5: Etc⦠I am reporting them to tax board ASAP. I waisted my money and time and I hope they close. A very very bad experience I had from this awful unfriendly and very poor and highly expensive poor quality merchandise.
